The Problem has a Solution, and the Solution has a Problem
But this is America! And we fix things! We have an innate drive to fix our problems, to create inventive ways through research and better living through chemicals.
We came up with a chemical miticide.
But then we began to notice how the miticide didn't work like it used to. The mites seemed to be developing a resistance, in part because of improper application and constant exposure (over application).
Then we began noticing negative side-effects like low sperm count in drones and delayed maturity in developing queens.
So we made up stronger chemcials, so strong that beekeepers needed to guard their own health from exposure to these miticides.
